Q. Are both days the same for the air show?
Yes and an event schedule will be released closer to the show dates.

Q. When do gates open for the airshow?

Gates open at 9 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday

Q. Is there a schedule of events?

Flying Acts start around 11 a.m. The main performance starts around 3 pm

Q. What does VIP Village Admission include?

A. VIP Village admission means you get to enjoy the 2023 Grand Junction Air Show in style! Relax underneath the private VIP Village tent with tables and chairs along the flight line. You also enjoy a catered, buffet-style meal along with endless sodas and water. Drink tickets can be provided to those 21 and older, possessing valid identification who would like to enjoy an alcoholic beverage while on-site. (Additional drink tickets will not be available for purchase). VIP Village also allows access to performers but is not a guarantee that you will meet any particular act. Your VIP Village ticket is valid for the entire day for which it is issued.

Q. What does reserve seating include?

A. A reserved seating ticket will give you access to a chair in a designated area. They are not assigned seats, so you are able to choose a seat you would like upon arriving at the Air Show. 

Q. What does General Admission include?

A. General admission means you have access to everything except the VIP Village and chairs are not provided, so please bring your own and place it where you would like! 

Q. Is there a map that shows where we are allowed to put chairs with regular tickets?

A. There is not a map available, but any area that is not covered by a tent is available for chairs to be placed. 

Q. Do children need tickets?

A. Children 4 and under are free to attend with a paid adult and do not require tickets for any area.  

Q. Do you offer any discounts to Active Military or Veterans?

A. Yes, Military / Veterans GA tickets are available for $15 at Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties locations and Cornerstone Home Lending locations.  Please call 970-243-0456 for more information. 

Q. Is there handicap access?

A. Yes, we ensure that people of all abilities will be able to enjoy the show with handicapped parking close to the entrance, designated handicapped restrooms, and designated handicapped seating areas, and there are no stairs to navigate on the show grounds.

Q. What is parking like?

A. Parking is in designated areas around the airport. General Admission, handicapped, and VIP parking are available. Please make sure to park in legal parking areas only, we are not responsible for anyone who parks illegally. 

Q. How far away will the general public parking be? Is there a drop-off area?

A. Families with young children and/or individuals who may not be able to walk a great distance will be allowed to drop off their party at the main gate before proceeding to the parking area. Currently, there are no shuttles available in the parking areas, so please plan accordingly, We will put out a notification if shuttles do become available. Closer handicapped parking is also available for those who need it.  

Q. What kind of food is available at the venue?

A. Typical event food such as hamburgers, hot dogs, BBQ, etc. We will be also having food trucks this year and will announce prior to the event.

Q. Where do all the proceeds from the ticket sales go?

A. Grand Junction Air Show Inc. is a non-profit organization that gives funds to local community organizations in need. 

Q. What agencies are involved in the production of the 2023 Grand Junction Air Show?

A. It takes mass coordination of efforts on behalf of Grand Junction Air Show Inc, Grand Junction Regional Airport, West Star Aviation, City of Grand Junction Police Department, City of Grand Junction Fire Department, BLM, FAA, TSA, Visit Grand Junction, and many others to make a show successful. 

Q. When was the first air show in Grand Junction?

A. The first Grand Junction air show was in 1912. Aviation Day August 27, 1912 was the first time local residents had seen an airplane. It consisted of one bi-plane landing in a field where Lincoln Park now resides. 

Q. What are the static exhibits?

A. There will be various planes, helicopters, cars event booths, and experiences for all ages. 

Q. Can I get a refund or exchange for my tickets?

A. In the event of inclement weather acts of god and/or public incidents; the current FAA and Public Safety Authority guidelines may require adjustments to the show & performer schedules including the possibility of postponement or cancellation. All scheduled performers, events & activities are subject to change without prior notice.  *This is an outdoor event, there are no rain checks or performer rain date options.  All sales are final, No ticket Refunds are available.

Q: Is this a ‘fly in and camp’ type of airshow?

A: No.

Q. I am not attending the show, however, I am flying out of Grand Junction Regional Airport during the event times, how much time should I allot for traffic congestion?

A. You should give yourself an extra half hour to make sure you don’t miss your flight, i.e. if the airport recommends you be there an hour before your flight, then make sure you are an hour and a half early.
